How I lost 21 kgs
in 18 weeks
(
obtained naturally: without any diet pills, packaged food plans, weekly diet consultations or exercise)

As you know, losing weight can be very difficult. In fact, my current weight loss is the only time in over 30 years where I've had sustained success for more than 7weeks. Actually, I'm so pleased with myself I've written a report about, How I lost 21 kgs in 18 weeks. A critical part of this are my before and after photos (above).

My before photo (96.9 kgs) was taken at a pool party in October 2006. I kept this weight until January 8, 2007 – the day I began my weight loss program.

My after photo (75.9 kgs) was taken on June 23, 2007. Actually, I got down to this weight on May 11 – less than 18 weeks after beginning my weight loss program.

The interesting part about this is that the weight loss was obtained naturally: without any diet pills, packaged food plans, weekly diet consultations or exercise! I've since begun exercising to tone up my muscles, and I'm feeling much better about that. But it hasn't made any difference to my weight loss, which I'm now maintaining.

I think you can clearly see the difference from the photos. I've even kept daily records of my food intake and weight (against popular opinion, I weigh myself daily), which I have charted to keep track of my own progress.

BILLIONAIRE JOKES

You CAN Take It With You!

There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money and wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him. An angel heard his plea and appeared to him.

"Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you."

The man begged the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules. The man continued to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel reappeared and informed the man that God had decided to allow him to take one suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathered his largest suitcase and filled it with pure gold bars and placed it beside his bed. Soon afterward, he died and showed up at the gates of heaven to greet St. Peter.

St. Peter, seeing the suitcase, said, "Hold on, you can't bring that in here!"

The man explained to St. Peter that he had permission and asked him to verify his story with the Lord. Sure enough, St. Peter checked it out, came back and said, "You're right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its contents before letting it through." St. Peter opened the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too precious to leave behind and exclaimed, "You brought pavement?"

Bill Gates and General Motors

Bill Gates is hanging out with the chairman of General Motors.

"If automotive technology had kept pace with computer technology over the past few decades," boasts Gates, "you would now be driving a V-32 instead of a V-8, and it would have a top speed of 10,000 miles per hour. Or, you could have an economy car that weighs 30 pounds and gets a thousand miles to a gallon of gas. In either case, the sticker price of a new car would be less than $50."

"Sure," says the GM chairman. "But would you really want to drive a car that crashes four times a day?"

Plastered Rich Man

A crumbling old church building needed remodeling, so, during his sermon, the preacher made an impassioned appeal looking directly at the richest man in town. At the end of the sermon, the rich man stood up and announced, "Pastor, I will contribute $1,000."

Just then, plaster fell from the ceiling and struck the rich man on the shoulder. He promptly stood back up and shouted, "Pastor, I will increase my donation to $5,000."

Before he could sit back down, plaster fell on him again, and again he this time he virtually screamed, "Pastor, I will double my last pledge."

He sat down, and a larger chunk of plaster fell on his head. He stood up once more and hollered, "Pastor, I will give $20,000!"

This prompted a deacon to shout, "Hit him again, Lord! Hit him again!"

Bill Gates now only world's second richest
August 7, 2007

Mexican telecom billionaire Carlos Slim has overtaken Microsoft founder Bill Gates as the world's wealthiest man with riches of $US59 billion, Fortune magazine said on Monday.

Fortune, which tracks the performance of the world's top companies, said Slim has increased his net worth by $US12 billion so far this year based on the market value of his companies listed on stock exchanges.

In an online profile of Slim, 67, Fortune said he had a fortune of $US59 billion based on the value of his public holdings at the end of July.

Gates, the Microsoft founder and perennial No. 1, had a net worth estimated to be at least $US58 billion," the magazine said.

Slim, the son of a Lebanese immigrant, owns Latin America's largest cell phone company America Movil.

Fortune said Slim's companies, ranging from a restaurant chain to a bank, made up a third of the Mexican stock market and his family's holdings represented more than 5 percent of Mexico's gross domestic product last year.

In July, a respected Mexican financial journalist announced that Slim had overtaken Gates as the world's richest man but the magnate said he did not care.

"It's water off a duck's back to me," the cigar-smoking Slim told foreign correspondents last week. "I don't know if I'm No. 1, No. 20, or No. 2000. It doesn't matter."

Gates and billionaire U.S. investor Warren Buffett, who was the second-richest person in the world until Slim overtook him this year, have been giving more of their money to charity in recent years.

Slim also backs philanthropic causes and last week announced a $US300 million plan to build 100 schools in Mexico, but says he does more good by creating wealth and jobs through his own companies.
